New York falls in love with Italian design: the Salone del Mobile arrives at Bloomingdale's.
From 5 to 29 September the famous Manhattan department store Bloomingdale's hosts the event "Italian Design: from Classic to Contemporary" organized by the Salone del Mobile: an installation that pays homage to the best of Made in Italy, signed by the star architect Ferruccio Laviani and engineered and set up by Stipa.
Inspired by the surreal atmospheres of Giorgio De Chirico's squares and buildings, the scenography by the Laviani studio is an exciting balance between an artistic work and an experiential pop-up, where wooden wings frame the icons of 23 selected Italian brands. An immersive experience that transports the visitor into a world suspended between art and design, where each object tells a story of ingenuity, excellent industrial production and high craftsmanship.
“It is always an emotion to return to New York, the heart of the American market: it is here that the Salone meets a continually evolving design community and for which it feels it is a reference in terms of design culture, creativity and sector economics” she comments Maria Porro, President of the Salone del Mobile.
Throughout September, Bloomingdale's will be a meeting point for design enthusiasts and professionals, with a calendar full of talks, creative workshops and networking moments dedicated to design culture.
Stipa is ready to transform the most creative ideas into evocative spaces, even in exceptional and international contexts.
